Aaron's Ark

At Home Euthanasia is the kindest and most compassionate way to say goodbye to a much loved pet. Pets are special friends and family members. We believe that their last moments should be at home and not in a noisy, chaotic clinic full of strange sounds, smells, and strangers. We will help your pet painlessly transition in a tranquil way that is stress free and peaceful. The comfort of home and family gives the pet the reassurance needed to not be afraid or apprehensive and allows you to say goodbye and grieve in private without a public display or any discomfort.

At your request we will advise you of any treatment option that may restore your pet to full or reasonable function. We have seen many crippled, older pets restored and then rehabilitated with 2-3 injections of Adequann, Oral Deramaxx, and Cosemin/Cosequin or Dasuquin.

Many older female dogs lose continence and leak urine when laying down and relaxed due to an estrogen imbalance affecting the bladder's sphincter muscle. This can be completely controlled very easily and these pets should not be put down.

We have a special interest in Geriatric care and in the rehabilitation and therapy of older pets. Many pets can have great quality of life and gain many more good years with the right treatment. Make sure you are being given all the options when making the critical decision to euthanize.

If it is your pet's time and the most compassionate thing that you can do for them is to put them to sleep, we offer caring, experienced doctors and a nurse who come right to your home and help your pet by providing a painless, stress free alternative to the chaos and terror they would experience during a clinic visit in last hours.

We strive to make a very difficult situation easier on you and your pet.

Many times we find a treatable condition that the pet owner did not know was treatable such as arthritis, ruptured disks, and incontinence in older pets.

We offer PAINLESS at home euthanasia services.

Our doctors have made themselves available to come out to your home so that you and your pet are given the option of a humane euthanasia in a peaceful setting. Having strangers and other pets around at your time of loss and grief is not an ideal setting for saying goodby. Your wishes are always our concern.

We use ONLY the most humane methods and euthanasia solution (concentrated pentobarbital).

Pets are already unconscious by the time the injection is half way finished and feel nothing. We have dozens of testimonials on file regarding our compassionate approach to at home euthanasia, We typically give a pre-euthanasia tranquilizer/pain killer to eliminate anxiety, fear, and pain prior to the actual euthanasia injection.

We DO NOT perform "convenience euthanasia."

Making the decision to put your pet down is a difficult and personal decision and differs with each individual situation. Only pets with terminal illnesses, intractable pain, or those failing with advanced age are considered reasonable requests. There is a veterinarian in our area who euthanizes pets without an exam, diagnosis, or options for helping your pet gain more time. She only euthanizes and always suggests it. We have seen many pets who's owners thought it was "their time" but were able to gain several more good years due to treatment and proper diagnosis. Our doctors will only recommend humane euthanasia if it is absolutely the answer and you have received all the possible options and an accurate prognosis.
